How much have Qatar consortium bid to buy Manchester United? Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani confirms bid via statement

A Qatari consortium led by Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani has confirmed its offer to buy Manchester United. They have reportedly bid £4bn to gain complete control of the Red Devils.

RMC Sport’s Loïc Tanzi says the offer was officially submitted before Friday’s deadline. The consortium have launched a foundation called ‘NINE TWO’, said to be a reference to the club’s legendary Class of ’92.

Confirming their offer via a press release, the NINE TWO Foundation said:

“Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani today confirmed his submission of a bid for 100 per cent of Manchester United Football Club. The bid plans to return the Club to its former glories both on and off the pitch and, above all, will seek to place fans in the heart of Manchester United Football Club once again”.

The statement added that the club would be debt free, something fans have argued against The Glazers. He added:

“The offering will be completely debt-free through Sheikh Jassim’s Nine Two Foundation, which will look to invest in the football teams, training center, stadium and broader infrastructure, fan experience and communities that the Club supports.

NINE TWO Foundation wants to take the club back to its glory days, saying:

“The vision of the bid is for Manchester United Football Club to be recognized for its footballing excellence and regarded as the best football club in the world. Further details of the bid will be released, where appropriate, as and when the process develops. of candidacy.”

Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani is a lifelong United supporter, while his father, Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabar Al Thani, was Prime Minister of Qatar from 2007 to 2013.

How many offers have been submitted by Manchester United?

In addition to the NINE TWO Foundation, another offer for Manchester United has been publicly confirmed.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe was the first to bid for the Red Devils. The 70-year-old is one of Britain’s richest men and was among the bidders for Chelsea when his property became available last year. The amount of his offer has not been disclosed.

The Times report suggests The Glazers are looking to seal the sale of the club before Easter, with a flexible deadline of 10pm UK time on February 18 for official interest to be formalized in writing.
