As you’ve probably heard by now, it’s Hoda Kotb’s time Today The show will end soon.
Hoda announced her decision to retire in September 2024, and she will bid an emotional farewell to her friends and co-stars on Friday.
It’s the end of an era, because Hoda has been a part of it Today Family since 2007.
She will, of course, be greatly missed, but there are many silver linings in this week’s sad news.
For one thing, Hoda’s replacement is none other than the hugely likable Craig Melvin, so viewers will still be greeted by a familiar face in the morning.
And in other good news, Hoda is stepping down for the best of reasons:

Hoda is the mother of two young girls, Haley Joy Kotb and Hope Katherine Kotb. And she says it was Asha who convinced her it was time to open a new chapter in her life.
talking to him Today Among colleagues on the show, Hoda said that sometime last year she began to feel that her career had peaked.
“I knew it was going to be the best,” she explained.

This feeling became stronger soon after, when Hoda was playing outside with her youngest daughter.
unexpected intelligence
“And then it was kind of highlighted because, like, about a week ago, my little girl Hope was climbing a tree, and she loves this tree, and she was at the top,” Hoda explained. .
“And so, I said, ‘Look at you. You’re at the top of that tree.’ I say, ‘What are you going to do – what are you going to do now?’
Then Hope gave some unexpected career advice.
“She said, ‘I think I’ll find a different tree,'” Hoda recalled.
“And I thought, ‘Oh my God.’ So sometimes the world starts to show up for you. So I knew it was time to do something different, and that meant, you know, having my kids ride in the sidecar more often than before. ”
Not surprisingly, Hoda’s daughters were thrilled to learn that she would soon be spending more time at home. But apparently, they wish he had taken this decision much earlier.
“I was telling them, ‘Mommy will be able to take you to school,’ and they went, ‘(gasp) On Wednesday?’ ‘No dear, not Wednesday.’ ‘Next week?’ I say, ‘No, honey, not next week. Probably somewhere in January, February,'” Hoda said during a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon.
“(He said) ‘January, February?’ I can keep working forever. For them, it’s like until the end.
It may be happening later than they expected, but it looks like Hope and Haley will finally get their wish!
