Finn Balor has been one of WWE’s biggest stars for almost a decade. A wrestling legend believes he could have been much more if the company had given him the right character.
WWE and ECW legend Sabu was one of the most unique wrestlers of his era. The daredevil put on some of the craziest and most extreme matches in the ring to entertain the fans.
Sabu named a WWE roster member who had been watered down by the creative team while speaking with covalent. He noted that Finn had a lot of potential, but the company didn’t give him the platform to go all out and prove himself.
“Finn Bálor, but then they programmed him to be one of them. Nothing against it. Nothing personal. But he’s not the same anymore,” Sabu said.
He added that it was evident that the star had all the potential. However, WWE didn’t use it to its fullest and kept it watered down.
“He could see when things weren’t going well, it didn’t bother him. Same with me. When things weren’t going well, those were my best things,” the legend added. (H/T Wrestling Inc.)
Finn Balor has played a key role in the success of Judgment Day on RAW. The Prince and JD McDonagh recently lost the World Tag Team Championship to War Raiders on the most recent episode of RAW.
Sabu hoped to one day fight WWE star Finn Balor
Many big names would have loved to have a match against Sabu in their careers. Meanwhile, the legendary star wanted to have a fight against the Judgment Day member.
Sabu noted that he saw Balor fight in Scotland. He loved the way Balor fought in the ring and wanted to face him, but injuries prevented him from doing so.
“I like Finn Balor. I’ve seen him fight in Ireland, not… Scotland a couple of times, not long before he became Finn Balor. I always wanted to fight him, then he became [Finn] Bálor. I really love him (him). So I said, ‘Hey, someday, let’s get together.’ He said, “Of course.” But it never happened because I got hurt,” Sabu said.
Many WWE fans are hoping to see The Prince get a push on the main roster and potentially get another world title. However, it has been a long time since he managed to win an individual title in the company.
