50 Cent recently opened up about his experience with Diddy when the latter wanted him to take him shopping. While speaking with Andrew Schulz on the Flagrant podcast on December 16, 2024, 50 Cent struck up a fun conversation with some other guests.
At first, Andrew asked Cent what was going on with Diddy and the rapper responded:
“The last thing I saw was a guy there, pushing me towards a truck. It hurt a lot. I thought, ‘Look, I can find other things to do.’
At one point, Andrew asks Cent about the response he gave to Diddy when he asked Cent to go shopping in real life. The rapper said he tried to get away from Diddy and continued:
“We gotta hang out now, we know, hang out, hey everyone. So I don’t know, man, I take them shopping and we just show them. Can you please shut me up and I was looking in and I was like, let’s go.” I just stay away from him because I’m terrible at winning.”
Cent also recalled that the purchase request came at the time that record executive Chris Lighty was getting married, adding:
“Certain things they let pass because it’s Puff, like it seemed like he was going to say things and he just, he wasn’t in the closet, he was in the hallway.”
50 Cent said he felt a different kind of energy when Diddy invited him to go shopping.
In August of this year, 50 Cent appeared in another conversation with The Hollywood Reporter where he talked about Diddy calling him to go shopping. Cent called it a strange request and added:
“I was like, ‘No, I’m not fucking with this weird energy or that weird shit,’ considering the way he moved. From that, I didn’t feel comfortable with him.”
Cent mentioned that he and Diddy were not friends since their relationship was only business. He further stated that none of them would be disappointed if they didn’t talk at all.
50 Cent and Diddy reportedly had issues with each other over the years. According to Cosmopolitan magazine, the duo’s problems began when Diddy did not release Mase from his contract with Bad Boy Records in 2006, with the goal of joining Cent’s G-Unit company.
Cent responded by releasing a diss track titled hip hop which hinted that Diddy was well aware of the person who murdered The Notorious BIG in 1997. However, the issues between Cent and Diddy were later resolved and they also performed with Jay-Z a year later.
Diddy is currently facing several legal issues following his arrest at a Manhattan hotel on September 16, 2024. The charges against him included sex trafficking, extortion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
His trial is scheduled for May 5 of next year and will take place at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, according to CBS News.
