Well, we think it’s safe to say that Hailey Mathers had a weekend to remember!
Eminem’s daughter announced on Monday that she is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Evan McClintock!
Clearly, Hailey didn’t inherit her father’s flair for the dramatics, as she announced the news in an off-hand manner:
“Casual weekend recap…” the 27-year-old influencer captioned a carousel of proposal pics.
“2.4.23 I love you @evanmcclintock11,” she said.
Hailey and Evan were immediately flooded with congratulations, but some commenters wondered about Slim Shady’s opinion of her future son-in-law.
Unfortunately, the hip hop icon has yet to publicly comment on his daughter’s engagement, so we don’t know what his opinion might be.
But Em has mellowed down considerably in middle age, and she and Hailey have always enjoyed a very close relationship.
So Marshall probably accepts this new development in his beloved daughter’s life.
But even if Evan is working with a kinder, humbler Eminem than we knew in the ’90s, asking for Pop’s blessing might have been a very herculean task.
If you’re a big fan of Mathers’ music, then we probably don’t need to tell you that Hailey is far more famous than most rappers’ daughters.
That’s largely because she was prominently featured in his songs, but it’s also because she’s built a career as a popular influencer with over 3 million followers.
Hailey’s millions of fans online first met Evan around this time last year when he appeared in Hailey’s Valentine’s Day post.
But when he recently met the public, Evan has reportedly been dating Hailey since 2016.
Despite his huge web presence, Hailey does an impressive job of protecting her privacy, a fact she acknowledged in June when she shared a second snap of Evan (below).
“I rarely share my feed,” she captioned the photo, “but when I do, I’m glad it’s with you.”
Em may not have addressed Hailey’s engagement just yet, but he often speaks of how proud he is of his eldest daughter.
He recently boasted about being a proud father during an interview on Mike Tyson’s podcast.
Em tells the bout champ how impressed he is with Hailey’s achievements, especially her graduation from college with honors.
He said at the time, “She definitely made me proud.”
“It’s important to keep your kids grounded when they’re in a situation like mine,” M continues.
“People also think that money just buys happiness – that’s not true at all. You have to be right in. Otherwise none of this s–t means anything.
Our heartiest congratulations to the entire Mathers and McClintock families on this joyous occasion!
