Dave Coulier revealed today that he has been diagnosed with a “very aggressive” form of cancer.

Dave said he was diagnosed in October after his lymph nodes became swollen due to a respiratory infection.
Dave Coulier’s shocking cancer diagnosis
In an interview published Wednesday morning, Dave revealed that his diagnosis came as a complete shock.
“Three days later, my doctors called me back, and they said, ‘We wish we had better news for you, but you have non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and it’s called B cell, and it’s very aggressive. Is,'” he said People,
“I left there, I had a little head cold that I had cancer, and it was pretty overwhelming,” he says. “It’s been a really fast roller coaster ride of a journey.”
Dave said he had lost several family members to cancer, and he immediately decided to take an aggressive, “head-on” approach to fighting the disease.
Dave, along with his wife Melissa Bring and friends in the medical field, assembled a team of top-tier doctors.
“We all put our heads together and said, ‘Okay, where are we going?’ And they had a very specific plan for how they were going to treat it,” he said.
Soon after, Dave got some good news when his bone marrow test came back negative.
“At that time, my chances of being curable went up to at least the 90% range. And so it was a great day.”

Dave further discussed his diagnosis during an appearance Today Show me this morning.
“The first thing I said to them was, ‘Wait a minute – cancer?'” he said.
“(I) felt like I was punched in the stomach because it never happens to you. You always hear about it happening to someone else.”
Dave credited his continued recovery to his wife, saying that she “organized (his) entire life, from nutrition to doctor’s appointments to pills.”
He added, “He’s color-coded the stuff.” “It’s awesome.”

Dave has maintained his famous sense of humor in the wake of his diagnosis. And he says he’s ready for whatever comes next in the fight for his life.
He added, “My joke is that in four short weeks, I’ve gone from Virgo to Cancer.” Today“I’ve tried to maintain a sense of reality as well as a sense of humor about it.”
“I told Melissa I don’t know why, but I don’t accept any news, no matter how devastating. …I can’t tell where it came from,” he said.
“My life has been incredible. I have had the most amazing people in my life. It has been an extraordinary journey, and I don’t mind if this is the end of the journey.”
