(Reuters) – A French government plane will take Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to the Arab League summit in Saudi Arabia and then take him to the G7 leaders’ summit in the Japanese city of Hiroshima, a news agency told Reuters. source familiar with the matter.
Zelenskiy will attend the Arab League summit later on Friday, said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the information is sensitive.
The source added that it was an opportunity for the Ukrainian leader to put pressure on allies and countries that have remained neutral in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
With a Ukrainian offensive expected soon, the source said it was vital that Zelenskiy continue to press his G7 allies in terms of military support, the source said.
Zelenskiy may also seek face-to-face talks with leaders from India, Indonesia and Brazil, who will also attend Sunday’s meeting, the source said.
