PARIS (Reuters) – Four people were killed and several others injured in an avalanche in the French Alps, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said on Sunday.
The avalanche occurred in broad daylight on the Armancette Glacier, he wrote on Twitter.
Those caught in the avalanche were walking through the mountains, according to local media.
President Emmanuel Macron wrote on Twitter that rescue services continue to search for more victims and that his thoughts are with the victims and their families.
