We have an update on the unexpected passing of Eva Evans.

Back in April, we learned that the popular TikTok star – who also created the Prime Video series Club Rat – had died at the very young age of 29, with his sisters Zoe and Lila Joy also confirming the same.

“Yesterday my family received the news that our beloved, brilliant, creative, caring, hilarious Eva, my beautiful sister, has passed away,” the sibling wrote on Instagram.

“24 hours later I still find myself in a constant cycle of denial and acceptance, so I know how incredible and difficult this news would be for me.”

In the meantime, we can now announce that Eva Evans died by suicide,

The New York City medical examiner told TMZ this week that Evans committed suicide by hanging himself in his apartment.

Sources told the same celebrity gossip website that a note was present at the scene, but it is currently unknown what was written on it.

Lila said this spring that she wished Eva were alive because “she would have had better words and would have been able to say things I couldn’t.”

“I’m keeping this brief so we can make plans for the next few days, but you’ll hear a lot from me about how much Eva means to me and how different the world will be without her.”

Evans had more than 300,000 TikTok followers at the time of his death, largely due to his humorous and informative content about life in the Big Apple as a 20-year-old.

As mentioned above, he also created Club Rat, a show about an influencer who “attempts to re-enter the chaotic New York City dating scene after an explicit video of a humiliating breakup goes viral,” according to its synopsis on Prime.

The five-episode web series is currently available on the streaming service.

“Rest in peace, angel Eva,” Hills alum Lo Bosworth commented on one of Eva’s Instagram posts. “You were always kind to me when others couldn’t be bothered. Will never forget that kindness.”

Photographer and director Ashley Armitage also paid an emotional tribute.

“Eva was smart, funny, creative, caring, charming and confident,” he said on Instagram. “She traveled the world with love and laughed at everything.”
