America will no longer have Ellen DeGeneres to kick ass.
According to The Wrap, DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi have moved to rural England and put their Montecito estate on the market.
Furthermore, they Plan to never return to the United StatesA source told this outlet, reportedly because Donald Trump was re-elected president this month.
DeGeneres supported Kamala Harris during the campaign to defeat Trump and, of course, she’s in a same-sex marriage.
There is concern among many observers that the incoming Trump administration will roll back various rights, laws, and regulations, including the legality of gay marriage.
We’re not sure DeGeneres is worried that her union will be canceled under a Trump presidency.
Maybe she wouldn’t want to live in a country where so many people voted for someone who was convicted of 34 felonies… who was found legally guilty of sexual assault… and who clearly Hates anyone who isn’t a rich, white male.
DeGeneres was one of this country’s more popular celebrities for many years when she hosted her own talk show.
However, in 2020, the comedian found himself at the center of an unexpected scandal when several employees accused him of creating a hostile work environment.
Ellen was often referred to as The Queen of Nice, which was then exposed as The Queen of Mean, after several editorials were published about the behind-the-scenes antics of Ellen and her producers.
“That ‘be kind’ nonsense only happens when the cameras are on. For example, as one former employee told BuzzFeed News, it’s all for show.
DeGeneres was originally canceled as a result of these allegations.
She has tried to deny allegations of actual harassment here and there, most times being adamant that she is not mean and not a cruel boss of any kind.
Instead, Allen has tried to argue that he is not the angel the media first made him out to be.
“I’m a lot of things, but I’m not mean,” DeGeneres told a crowd of fans at a comedy show this summer. “I can be demanding, impatient and strict. I am a strong woman.”
DeGeneres came out with a stand-up special this year that she said would be her last stand-up, perhaps setting the stage for her move away from entertainment in line with the above.
Ellen and Portia were married in 2008 and last week were spotted visiting British host Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, in Burford, England.
The couple watched an acoustic performance of The Corrs there and were joined by singer Natalie Imbruglia, best known for her 1997 hit “Torn”.
The Wrap now writes that DeGeneres has already relocated to the Cotswolds in south-central England, and adds that her Montecito mansion, located about 90 minutes north of Los Angeles, has been pocket-listed Or will be listed soon.
“I decided to take up gardening,” a bitter DeGeneres said in her latest special about what she’s been up to lately. “I got chickens. Let me see what else I can tell you about what’s going on… Oh yes, I was thrown out of show business… Yes, the ‘be kind’ girl was not kind. That was the title.”
