Joanne Froggatt pregnant: ‘Downton Abbey’ star is expecting her first child

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, and Joan, who plays Anna Bates in the film, Downton Abbey The franchise allowed photographers to capture the moment they announced their first pregnancy.

Without saying a single word! Instead, she was cradling her obvious baby bump while posing on the carpet in a red dress! So cute!

As of now, Joan hasn’t made any official announcement yet, so we don’t know the gender, due date, or any other specifics just yet.

To be honest, we don’t even know who the father is. Although she was previously married to James Cannon, Joan announced that she and the IT consultant had ended their marriage in 2020.

Since then, there hasn’t been any serious men in her life, although a mysterious man has been seen around her. But honestly, it could be anyone!

Busy times for ‘Downton’ star

Although being pregnant is a true blessing, Joanne has her hands a little busy at the moment.

Currently, the third Downton Abbey movie is filming in the U.K. Nearly all of the original stars are set to return, including Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Allen Leech, and Joan.

In fact, the number of artists is growing too! This week it was announced that House of the Dragon‘ star Simon Russell Beale is joining this time around, as well as Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola and Paul Giamatti, who is actually reprising his role of Harold Levinson, Cora’s (Elizabeth McGovern) brother in the TV series.

Wonder if the writers will incorporate Joan’s pregnancy into the story!
