Doubling Down with the Derricos The show will return for Season 6, according to one of its stars.
Deion and Karen Derrico announced that they would be getting divorced in early summer 2024. Fans of their TLC reality show were immediately frustrated, as it seemed like this meant the show would be canceled along with the marriage.
However, according to Dion, the show isn’t over yet — and he has the receipts to prove it.
‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ Season 6 Begins
In June 2024, Deion and Karen Derrico shocked the reality TV-loving world by announcing their divorce. Two days after the bombshell news was delivered, the divorce was finalized and the couple went radio silent.
No reason, no heartfelt confession of the breakdown of their marriage. Instead, just a quick separation and a public promise to their children.
“We are united in our commitment to raising our 14 beautiful children — their well-being is our priority,” Dion and Karen said in a statement.
“We thank everyone for their understanding and support as we move forward for the well-being of our family.”
So, where does that leave her hit TLC show now? Well, just before the 4th of July, Deion addressed fans’ concerns on her Instagram. The good news is that not only is Season 6 happening, but it’s also currently filming.
“We’re filming everything that’s happening right now so you guys don’t have to keep asking,” Dion told viewers on her Instagram Live. VideoHe’s been spending quality time with some of these kids, playing dress up and watching TV. Though there are no television cameras in the shot, Deion assured his followers that the new season is underway — and anything they want to know will be discussed.
Deion hinted that divorce would be a major issue in Season 6
During the live video, Dion addressed the elephant in the room, the divorce that no one had imagined. He assured fans that everything will be revealed next season.
He admitted, “There’s a lot going on, a lot of moving parts, a lot of feet moving. You guys will be able to follow it and find out exactly what happened.”
While hanging out with her kids around the house, Dion explained that right now, the family is focused on keeping things as normal as possible for the 14 mini Derricos.
“Our primary goal is to make sure our kids are happy and feel like they’re being listened to, loved and all those good things,” she said.
When does Season 6 of ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ premiere?
Since the show continues to shoot until July 2024, it’s unlikely that the new season will premiere any time before early 2025.
That’s a long time to get answers as to why Dion and Karen split after 19 years of marriage and 14 kids.
Still, the important thing to remember is that a new season is coming. And, if Deon is to be believed, the pair will leave no stone unturned.
“You guys will be able to follow along and find out what happened,” he promised in an Insta Live. “How did we get here? Where we’re going from here, we don’t even know.”
This is a story that will continue, but at least it will continue.
