Donald Trump reacted to Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris on Tuesday night, saying he completely understands her decision and wishes the artist all the best.
I am joking.
He did not say anything like that.
“She’s a very generous person,” he said during an appearance on Fox & Friends on Wednesday morning, referring to Swift and her decision to express her support for Harris following Trump’s disparaging debate tirade against the Democratic nominee this week.
Trump further said:
“She always seems to support the Democrats, and she’s probably going to pay a price for that in the marketplace.”
Swift, of course, first supported the members of this party back in 2018 … and since then she’s been hosting the most successful tour in music history.
So, yes. We doubt there is a price that has been paid or will be paid.
During the same interview, when Trump was asked about Swift’s political involvement, he praised Brittany, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
(Brittany Mahomes has made it clear several times in the past few days that she is a member of Donald Trump’s group.)
“If you want to know the truth, I like Mrs. Mahomes better. She’s a big Trump fan,” Trump said on Fox News.
“I like Britney. I think Britney’s great.”
After mocking J.D. Vance and his views on women, Swift elaborated further in her support this week, describing herself as a “childless cat lady” and writing:
I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to carry them forward.
I understand that he is a determined and talented leader and I believe we can achieve a lot in this country if we lead with peace instead of chaos.
I was so excited and inspired by the selection of her fellow candidate @timwalz who has been championing LGBTQ+ rights, IVF and women’s right to their own bodies for decades.
Swift concluded her message thus:
I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. It’s your job to do the research, and it’s your job to make the choice. I also want to say this, especially to first-time voters:
Remember that you must be registered to vote!
I also think it is very easy to vote early. I will provide details on where to register and the dates and ways to vote early in my story.
