Midway through the celebration, the 21-year-old collapsed face down onto the ring. This prompted Booker T, Meiko Satomura, and other medical officials to attend to the champion. Perez claimed to put his health on the line to retain gold at NXT Roadblock.
Roxanne Perez’s injury at NXT Roadblock concerned fans for her well-being. Thankfully, the entire collapse scenario was a shot from an angle with Shawn Michaels on RAW in the mid-’90s. Like HBK, Perez took multiple hits to the head, leading to the kayfabe injury.

As fans pointed out, Roxanne Perez’s injury on NXT Roadblock is kayfabe because the referee didn’t flash the dreaded X sign. The sign is used whenever a Superstar is badly injured and isn’t part of the story. WWE takes head injuries seriously and if Perez suffered one, multiple reports would have hit the wrestling pod by now.
Following the angle of the injury, Roxanne was placed on a stretcher while wearing a neck brace. WWE released an update on her condition, but they have not revealed which storyline injury she is dealing with. That issue is probably for next week.
The Prodigy is on a dream run on the NXT roster. Since he dethroned Mandy Rose in December, he has held the title for 78 days. WWE has big plans for the youngster as evidenced by her victory against the veteran Satomura.

The angle of injury overtook Roxanne Perez in a major way. She can now wear the collar as a reminder of her heroism. It is unknown her participation in Stand and Deliver, although the injury could mean that she will be out of the ring for a while.
However, The Prodigy has an online challenger. Tiffany Stratton bid on the Women’s Championship before Roadblock was released. Whether the matchup will be booked for April 1 or a later date remains to be seen.
