In August, Denzel Washington admitted that, at this point in his huge career, he doesn’t have a lot of movies left to do.
However, the Oscar winner has a few candidates in mind for his last film.
And, as if channeling the spirit of a (very much alive) Tom Holland, he may have let out a little more than he intended.

“For me it’s about the filmmakers,” the actor said. “Especially at this stage of my career, I’m only interested in working with the best.”
Denzel Washington admitted: “I don’t know how many more movies I’m going to make. Probably not that many. I want to do things I haven’t done.”
Denzel Washington commented, “I played Othello at 22. I’m gonna play Othello at 70.” Jake Gyllenhaal will co-star in that production.
“After that, I’m playing Hannibal,” he said. Washington refers there to the historical Carthaginian general, not to the iconic fictional hero, Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
“After that, I’m talking to Steve McQueen about a movie. “After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next ‘Black Panther,'” he revealed. Denzel Washington added: “After that, I’m going to do the movie ‘Othello,’ after that, I’m going to do King Lear.”
Ultimately, Denzel Washington vowed: “After that, I’m going to retire.”
Incidentally, this isn’t the Oscar winner’s first connection to black panther Movies. Before his tragic passing in 2020, the late Chadwick Boseman revealed that Denzel Washington paid for his acting classes one summer.
That series of films sounds like a nice farewell to a storied acting career. Perhaps the order would surprise even Denzel Washington, he said. And maybe something else comes up and it becomes his Real Last movie.
