The war between Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and country star Zach Bryan has heated up.
For those who are new to this particular drama, the unexpected feud started when Zach broke up with girlfriend Brianna Chickenfry.
Brianna (real name Brianna LaPaglia) is a writer and podcaster for Barstool, hence the nickname Crispy.
Briana and Zach’s bad breakup
Brianna says she was “blindsided” when Zach broke up with her last month.
She later accused Zach of emotional abuse and claimed that he manipulated her throughout their relationship.
Brianna also alleged that after their split, her famous ex attempted to buy her silence by paying her $13 million.
He quickly gained the support of thousands of Barstool devotees, including his boss Portnoy.
Dave Portnoy criticizes Zach Bryan
The media mogul entered the fray last week, releasing an anti-Jack diss track called “Smallest Man.”
The song was as brutal as it sounds, but it wasn’t available for a very long time. In response to the copyright issue, it was immediately removed from YouTube and other platforms.
Undaunted, Portnoy has now released a second song, and it may be even harsher than the first.
On “Country Diddy”, Portnoy compares Zach to jailed hip hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The chorus states, “Country diddy, country diddy / Steal another story, write another country ditty / All these NDAs make you sound like a country diddy.”
“Offered Brie $13 million, just to shut down her trap / Then she turned around and said ‘Turn it up,'” Portnoy raps at one point in the song.
“Something like your face / It ain’t look pretty / Know I come straight to Oklahoma City by storm,” he adds:
“Buttercup really thought she could shut me up / Someone tell your cheap lawyers I don’t give a f–k.”
Portnoy had previously complained of personal animosity towards Zach, stemming from an incident in which he felt socially humiliated by the singer.
So Brianna’s situation may have provided the excuse she needed to settle an old grudge. Whatever the case, his condition has clearly caused him great emotional distress.
Briana’s story
“The last year of my life has been the hardest year of my life, dealing with this man’s abuse,” she claimed on the BFF Podcast last week.
“I’m still scared of him, I’ve lost my mind. I’m afraid of making him mad. Last week I didn’t want to talk about it because I was scared.
“I still said that your money is bad. You made women before me believe they had no other choice,” Brianna continued.
“And in order to get money from you, to sign off on their experiences, to sign off on what they’ve gone through, you have to go on stage and sing your little f–king songs like you’re a good guy.”
We will have further updates on this developing story as new information becomes available.
