WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes successfully defended his title at a recent live event in Florida. Rhodes also shared a touching moment with a young fan in attendance after the game. The moment then went viral on social media.

The American Nightmare faced Kevin Owens in a Steel Cage Match in Miami on Sunday for the WWE Undisputed Championship. It was part of the company’s annual Holiday Tour, and Florida was one of the locations this year. WWE stars performed in Jacksonville, Orlando and Miami from December 26-29.

After his victory over KO, 40, Rhodes saw a fan in the ring holding a sign that read, “I beat cancer to be here.” The current champion invited the brave boy to the ring to celebrate his victory together. Cody even gifted the young fan his American Nightmare weight belt.

Rhodes then hugged the boy before scooping him up in his arms and waving to the crowd, creating an incredible memory for the cancer survivor. The moment was shared by WWE on its official site. instagram account.

WWE will begin the road to WrestleMania 41 on February 1 at the Royal Rumble. The PLE will mark the official start of WrestleMania season, and Cody Rhodes is set to defend his WWE Undisputed Championship against Kevin Owens in Indianapolis.

Last week on Smackdown, KO got into the shoes of the champion, who decided that he will face his rival in a Ladder Match to unify the WWE Undisputed Title and its Winged Eagle version in the next Royal Rumble. It was what Rhodes wanted, so SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made it official.

After confirmation, Owens pushed Aldis towards Rhodes, who was still suffering from the effects of the Package Piledriver from Saturday Night’s Main Event. The boxer wasn’t finished when he kicked the back of The American Nightmare’s head several times.

Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens will be the third time the WWE Championship will be defended in a singles Ladder Match. The Rock defeated then-champion Mankind on an episode of RAW on February 15, 1999. The Undertaker survived Jeff Hardy in a memorable Ladder Match to retain his title at the Monday Night Show in July 2002.
