Christine Brown is taking her ex-husband to court.
According to legal documents obtained by In Touch Weekly , the 52-year-old has filed a lawsuit against the Sister Wives frontman, asking the court to establish paternity of 14-year-old daughter Truly.
Apparently for some reason Cody’s name isn’t listed on his birth certificate.
In addition, Christine has requested a domestic relations injunction. It is closed at Both parties will be protected from harassment, domestic violence, cancellation or modification of services, taking children on non-regular travel without court order or permission, and demeaning or insulting the other party.
In our opinion, this is quite interesting.
It seems like Christine is the one who is more critical of Kody.
She doesn’t often mention her ex-husband by name, but Brown has repeatedly emphasized how happy she is to no longer be married to him.
After Christine walked out on Kody in November 2021, Truly moved from Arizona to Utah with her mother.
Nearly a year later, the insider told In Touch that Kody had no real connection with the child, prompting Christine to “adjust” to the Wyoming native.
“She’s still worried about COVID and everything else,” the source told this tabloid in October 2022.
“So, if Christine doesn’t choose to transport and get this done — nor does she put Truly through any of that stress — then Kody will have no relationship with Truly. He will have to leave his nest to see his daughter.”
This may help explain part of Christine’s trial.
She’s basically asking the court to make it clear to Kody that she No Keep doing this.
Kody and Christine also have children – Mykelti, Aspyn, Gwendlyn, Ysabel, and Paden; however, only Truly is a minor.
“When I lived in Flagstaff, I firmly believed that moving to Utah was the best choice for me and Truly,” Christine explained during a previous episode of Sister Wives.
“I knew I was taking Truly away from her father. I felt the best way to preserve Truly’s relationship with Cody was to take her away from him.”
Christine then said:
“I took over their relationship when it was still good and I picked him up and moved him. And then whenever we’re back in town, I pick him up again and move him back.”
Kody doesn’t seem to be particularly close to his kids.
The father of 17 children wasn’t even speaking to his son, Garrison, after the 25-year-old committed suicide last March.
Kody also criticized his ex-wife’s reasoning for moving away with their teenage son via a Sister Wives confessional last year.
“For Christine to think she’s protecting the relationship between her and me by taking Truly away from me and just ‘protecting’ her — that’s some kind of bullshit rationalization,” Kody said on air, insisting that the situation was “ridiculous.”
He has yet to publicly respond to Christine’s new lawsuit.
