Chris Brown being nominated for (more) Grammys is garnering a major reaction. Well deserved response.
Chris Brown has been accused of numerous wrongdoings including beating up his own fans. He pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna in 2009 and confirmed the criminal charges against him at the time.
Which means Chris Brown is not an “alleged” monster; He is just a monster. This is known.
And yet…the industry does this No seem to care. Nor do any people who actually keep buying his music.

The GRAMMY nominations are in! Many of the names are exactly what you’d expect after a solid year for music.
Apparently, Chappelle Rhone and Sabrina Carpenter are up for a Grammy Award. Beyoncé is once again the MVP of the music industry, even though Some? Award shows have ignored him.
Charli XCX. Taylor Swift. Billie Eilish. All the music that people with common tastes probably listen to (even if not everyone listens to it or it’s the only music they listen to!)
But then, the Grammy Award nominations took a bitter turn.
For Best R&B Performance, Chris Brown received a nomination for “Relics”. Chris Brown is nominated for Best R&B Album 11:11 (deluxe),
Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song includes one more nomination. Chris Brown was one of the people who worked on “Praise”. And for Best African Music Performance, Chris Brown received a Grammy nomination for “Sensational”.

Even though Twitter is in its death throes as a platform, tweet after tweet is calling for the Grammy Awards to nominate Chris Brown.
One accepted A domestic abuser who has been accused of tormenting other victims may get a chance to walk across the stage at the next Grammys and collect an award.
Some people accusing him may be in the audience. Alleged victims who never came forward may be out there. Future Potential victims may be there, think he might be a good person, and find out the hard way that he is not okay. What happened to the “cancel culture” that horrible people always complain about?
Of course, the sobering reality is that “cancel culture” as many people means it never actually existed. And this is unfortunate.
Yes, there are definitely people who spend their free time harassing others on social media. Usually, this is for effect, and may also be for invented reasons – fan disagreements and so on. In that sense, of course, “cancel culture” exists. But when people say this they don’t mean it.
“Cancel culture” toward sexual predators, abusers, and other monsters? If recent political events have taught us nothing else, it is that we do not live in a good enough or good enough society for most of the evil among us to face meaningful consequences.

In fact, for years now, claims that someone has been “silenced” or “deplatformed” or “cancelled” have been nothing short of ridiculous.
The running joke is that these guys get their own speaking tour, their own Netflix comedy specials, their own news segments, their own Grammys. All so they can discuss how much “cancel culture” has hurt them. There is an entire industry that has sprung up around grifters claiming that they have been unjustly “canceled.”
In Chris Brown’s case, he’s up for a Grammy Award. again. Because people keep buying his music. They keep going to his concerts. And then record companies and Academy members keep nominating him for awards that he could Never to be eligible.
