Greetings.
It didn’t take long.
Nearly a week after officially being named the next Bachelorette, Charity Lawson says she’s already found love.
Potentially, that is. he has found Possibility for love.
The former Bachelor suitor — who took Zach Shallcross home to visit his family this spring only after he was dumped by the tech executive — recently finished shooting the first night of her season of The Bachelorette.
You know one, don’t you?
The one where one stud muffin after another steps out of a limousine, introduces herself to Lawson and promptly tries to sweep him off her feet?
How did it go, exactly?
“It was a good one,” Charity told Entertainment Tonight about the unusual experience. “I’m a little giddy. Definitely killed. I’ve got a good batch of boys… I’ve been laughing all night.”
While the 27-year-old confessed she “came to the exit with little alarm,” she insisted to ET that her nerves were “easing her way out” after meeting her contestants.
“It was worth it,” Lawson said about conquering her fears and moving forward with her romantic journey.
After being nominated for the role on The Bachelor Women Tell All special several days earlier, Lawson told Jesse Palmer:
“I have waited forever to find the love of my life.
“It blows my mind that I could meet my person and be engaged and literally have my happily ever after.”
Just a day before, viewers saw Zach Shallcross send Lawson home after visiting her family in Georgia on Season 27 of The Bachelor.
During this hometown visit, Lawson told her potential spouse that she was “falling in love”, but the sentiment was not reciprocated… prompting an angry reaction by Lawson.
However, she has calmed down, and is embracing the opportunity ahead of her.
“As the fourth woman of color and second monoracial African American to step into this role as the Bachelorette, it’s huge,” she told ET:
“I’m definitely coming here with an open mind, an open heart, ready to fall back in love, hopefully.
“I really took the time to work on myself and be more prepared with what I’m looking for, so I’m definitely ready.”
As in what is she looking for in a soulmate?
She says now, “Somebody who can let down their walls, be their true self and let nothing hold them back.”
As for her biggest deal breaker, the charity said it was “dishonest”, concluding on the subject:
“I guess it’s cliché to say this, but really honesty is something I value a lot in friendships, relationships, all aspects of my life… so whether it’s a little white lie or a big lie, I I’m not doing it.”
