Hogwarts Legacy comes with the Legacy House ranking system, which determines which house the player will belong to. Each of these houses comes with its own in-game common room, which contains its secrets, chests, and some exclusive quests and side content.
So this has led many in the Wizarding World community to be curious about some of the things they can do in the game. One of the most popular questions among fans is whether they can switch houses once the in-game ranking ceremony takes place.
Unfortunately, there is no way for players to be able to change houses or switch houses in Hogwarts Legacy once the school year officially begins in-game. If players want to try the game from the perspective of a student from a different house, they will be asked to choose a new game and select a different house during the Selection Ceremony.
Players will not be able to change houses in Hogwarts Legacy
It is quite unfortunate that players cannot enjoy Avalanche Software’s RPG from the perspective of a student from different houses once they have chosen a common room during the Sorting Hat Ceremony.
Also, after choosing a house, players will also not be able to visit the common rooms of other houses. Even if they manage to get to the bedroom door, no command prompts will help them get inside.
The only way to enjoy the game as a student from another house will be through a new game, where players will once again have to go through the entire Sorting Ceremony and choose a different house.
Multiple walkthroughs will be necessary for those seeking Platinum in the game and unlocking all the trophies and achievements it has to offer.
The lack of a New Game Plus mode is also something many feel Hogwarts Legacy needs. New Game will not allow players to transfer all the skills and items they collected from the previous run to the new one.
Thus, another run of the New Game will start from scratch, and players will have to unlock all their skills, abilities, and spells by completing the various school tasks and participating in all the sidequests and objectives.
