Pamela Anderson has been in the limelight this week.
Anderson recently released a memoir and a companion documentary on Netflix, and even the ’90s icon’s most hardcore fans are learning shocking new truths about Pam’s wildly eventful life.
Among the revelations were the facts that Tim Allen sexually assaulted Pam on the set of Home Improvement and that Kid Rock was a terrible husband.
OK, so those two weren’t exactly shocking, but Pam fans probably appreciated that they were finally hearing stories straight from the source instead of reading about her in the newspapers.
The recent Hulu limited series included one of the most widely discussed scenes in Pam’s documentary Pam and Tommywhich centered on the drama surrounding Anderson’s leaked sex tape with then-husband Tommy Lee.
Pam says she was furious about the project, and condemned everyone involved (lead actress Lily Collins was given a pass).
And according to Anderson, his two sons were equally hurt by the series.
“He said ‘why bring up things that happened 20 years ago if that really messed up my mom?’ Pam remembered.
Anderson’s son Dylan said in the film, “Why bring up something that you know somebody from 20 years ago.”
“Taking the worst part of his life and making a semi-comedy out of it; [it] Did not get it.
Many people applauded Pam’s sons for sticking up for their mom, including another blonde ’90s icon who continued to be a tabloid fixture.
We’re talking about Britney Spears, of course, who praised Pam’s doctor and said the two of them have a lot in common.
“I really respect the fact that her kids stood up for her concerning the fact that people were trying to sell her a story from the past!!!” Spears wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.
“Referring to the embarrassing topic that sold in comedic TV comparisons… she’s right!!!”
Brittany said that she has been the subject of several recent documentaries, and that she had no one to hold her back like Pam’s children.
In fact, Britney’s sons criticized her parenting and her Instagram content!
“The people I love speaking about my past with 4 documentaries released about me in the last year!!!” she wrote.
“That alone was almost as hard as the time I went past it!!!”
The Brit opened up about the lack of privacy she’s had over the years, and in a surprising revelation, she admitted she was in a “secret relationship” when she was 25, which she described as her own way of “rebelling.” told.
“It is not right for my father to claim that he is mine and take away 15 years of my life!!!” Spears wrote.
From there, Britt once again addressed her brother Brian’s claim that his conservatism was good for their family:
“I bet it was… giving me too much work while they had their meetings!!!” she wrote.
From there, Britney brings up Pam’s documentary once again, saying that “people should support you no matter where you are at that moment in your life… until cruelty rules the world?? ?”
From there, she wondered if her family “feels better about themselves for shaming me and bringing up my past???”
We are Ms Spears knows that bullies like her father rarely feel better about themselves after abusing their victims – but they continue to do so anyway.
Maybe someday Britney will get a chance like Pamela to tell her story in a documentary of her own.
