For years, fans have been anticipating a Britney Spears family reunion.
Not with his widely reviled father or his estranged brother, but with his teenage sons. There was tension with both sons, between their guardianship and much more.

After a rough patch, Britney Spears reunites with Jaden James
According to a new report from page sixBritney Spears recently reunited with Jayden James Federline, the younger of her two sons.
“They’ve been spending a lot of time together,” an insider revealed.
A second insider revealed that Jaden has “been back in California” since he turned 18.
Remember, in 2023, and with Britney’s approval, Kevin Federline and both of their shared sons moved to California. Shawn Preston got to turn 18 before settling into his new Hawaiian pad, but Jaden — who was almost a year younger — didn’t.

Now that he’s an adult, he’s more or less free to live wherever he wants and see who he likes. Although there’s no indication that anyone was stopping her from meeting Brittany, it seems like it was definitely her choice.

“Britney is thrilled to have her baby back,” the second insider said.
The insider added that “everything is moving in the right direction.”
It is unclear whether Jaden is living alone with Brittany or somewhere else. We hope he can keep that answer private as long as he wants.
Meanwhile, Sean Preston Federline reportedly still lives in Hawaii. After getting the job, Kevin Federline and his wife Victoria moved here.
Speaking of Shawn, he and Jaden invited Brittany over to celebrate Mother’s Day in May. Britney’s lawyer confirmed the call at the time.
That was a sign of progress. And, crucially, his sons had previously confirmed their desire to reconcile with Brittany. Now, that reunion is underway.

While all fans were happy with the news, someone who was a little surprised by it was Jaden’s father, Kevin Federline.
According to him and those who speak on his behalf, Jaden has seen and spoken to his mother several times over the past few years, maintaining a warm, yet distant relationship.
Kevin’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told TMZ: “If there is a reconciliation that’s news to Kevin.”
She said Kevin also talks to Jaden often and she has not been told about any kind of reconciliation between the 18-year-old and his mother.
How did the rift start?
There are two major types of family conflicts between parents and children, and they are fundamentally different. The first, of course, is someone running away from the abuser. Some relatives are so toxic and so dangerous that it is impossible for them to ever be in your life.
Other times, hurt feelings get mixed up. Someone you love can get under your skin. In this case, Jaden felt that Brittany showed favoritism towards him over Shawn. Additionally, the boys reportedly felt embarrassed by Britney’s social media antics. (What is a teenager? No Ashamed of your mother?)
Even though Brittany never intended or felt favoritism, it’s clear that her boys didn’t feel the same way. Regardless of guardianship, it’s on him. But we’re encouraged to see this mother-son reunion happening.
