According to insiders, Brad Pitt’s parents have not seen their children for several years.
But these same reports emphasize that Not there. The work of Angelina Jolie.
Brad and Angelina’s children, in the years since their parents’ separation, have been making their feelings known one by one.
What is (allegedly) keeping them from their grandparents?
Brad Pitt’s six children haven’t seen their parents recently
According to an insider, People According to reports, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children are not spending much time with their grandparents.
And it has been like this for more than five years.
The insider explained that this lack of “widespread time” isn’t limited to grandparents. Apparently there is little contact with cousins and other relatives on the Pitt side of the family.
Maddox is 23 years old. Pax is 20 years old. Zahra is 19 years old. Shiloh turned 18 earlier this year. The twins, Knox and Vivienne, are both 16 years old.
In 2016, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt after he allegedly violently attacked her and some of their children during an ill-fated flight.
The exiles have waged a bitter battle. Most of this has happened in court, first in divorce court and now over this harsh lawsuit that Pitt filed against a French winery. It appears that Pitt has waged a PR war in an effort to make himself appear as somehow sympathetic or even a “victim” in all this.
Another insider responded by saying People That “Angelina has not blocked any communications or relationships.”
The second insider, one from Jolie’s camp, continued: “She’d rather encourage them to keep in touch with their grandparents.”
This second source also elaborates: “Children send cards and gifts to their grandparents for their birthdays and Christmas every year.”
Nearly all of Jolie’s children (most of whom have taken steps to distance themselves from their father, including dropping his surname) are young adults.
Generally speaking, this is a time when people are less likely to be in regular contact with relatives. In a normal household, your parents might get you on the phone with your grandparents or cousins to talk.
Without that help, a college student may be too busy thinking about most of their relatives until they’re a little older and wiser. This is normal. But most college students don’t make it to the end
Could this distance be more personal?
Obviously, none of us know what’s going on in the hearts and minds of each member of Brad Pitt’s extended family or Angelina Jolie’s children. But… bitter divorces can tear apart more than just a marriage. Especially when one of the husband or wife is accused of abuse.
Some grandparents will support their grandchildren in these situations, even if they have had no contact with their child. Other grandparents (and other relatives) may break ties with their grandchildren because of misplaced loyalties. It is painful.
Sometimes, a bad relative can ruin an entire family because they are not “sold differently.”
One can only imagine how much more awkward this all gets in celebrity families. But it’s hard to imagine Angelina trying to move her kids to their grandparents while also keeping them in touch with their own terrible father.
