Sad news today from Audrina Patridge.
MTV star Mountain revealed on Instagram that his 15-year-old niece, Sadie Loza, had passed away unexpectedly.
Audrina shared a carousel of photos of Sadie, including several in which aunt and niece enjoyed the warm glow of each other’s company.
He captioned the post with a loving tribute to Sadie.
“It hurts my heart to even write this. My beautiful niece is in heaven now,” Audrina wrote.
“I know [it’s] Not forever goodbye, but for now goodbye is the hardest to say,” she continued.
“We will miss you and cherish every single moment we spent with you. say rest in peace say !! We love you forever and ever!
Sadie was the daughter of Audrina’s sister, Casey Patridge Loza, who also paid tribute to the late teen,
“Sadie Raine Loza has left this earth for heaven,” she wrote.
“Writing this was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.”
“Her story will save countless lives, her memory will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace you brilliant Starseed,” Casey concluded.
Casey laments that he lacks the proper words to express his grief, but finds comfort in remembering Sadie’s favorite physics lesson, which may provide the key to understanding the joys of life and the pangs of death.
“The first law of thermodynamics aka (law of conservation of energy) works in all areas of life….’Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another. Can go,” she wrote.
“Change is a better word than death.”
Several of Audrina’s celebrity friends expressed their condolences in the comments section of her post.
Brody Jenner wrote, “Audrina, so sorry for your loss. It’s heartbreaking. Sending love to you and the family.”
Kristin Cavallari commented, “Omggg this kills me.”
“Audrina! I am so sorry! Sending all the love and light to you and your family,” Rachel Bilson wrote.
“Sending lots of love to you and your family,” Ashley Greene offered.
News of Sadie’s passing comes just a week after Audrina gathered with the family to celebrate her niece’s 15th birthday.
“I can’t believe you’re 15,” Casey wrote on Instagram at the time. “It seems like the years flew by and we still have so many adventures to go! Aliens in Sedona, portals, learning to drive in the desert.”
No cause of death has been revealed, but based on comments from her loved ones, it appears that Sadie was bravely battling a chronic illness.
