To extend its manufacturing footprint beyond China, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is in talks with suppliers to manufacture MacBooks in Thailand, Reuters reported on Thursday.
The tech giant has already been mass-producing its Apple Watch in Thailand for more than a year.
According According to the sources, the suppliers involved in talks with Apple have existing manufacturing complexes in Thailand and are discussing the possible assembly and production of components and modules for MacBooks.
Additionally, Bloomberg news reported on Thursday that Apple has tripled its production of iPhones in India, churning out more than $7 billion worth of smartphones in the last fiscal year.
The tech giant now makes nearly 7% of its iPhones in India, up from 1% in 2021.
The company has not responded to a Reuters request for comment on the production of MacBooks in India and Thailand.
