Amy Slaton under CPS investigation: Will she lose her kids after her arrest?


As you may have heard by now, Amy Slaton was arrested this week.

The 1000-Lb Sisters star was taken into custody after an awkward situation:

Slaton was bitten by a camel at a zoo in Tennessee (resulting in him being carried away on a stretcher) … and, when authorities later examined him, he was reportedly found to be in possession of marijuana and mushrooms.

The TLC personality was then booked on charges of illegal possession of Schedule I and Schedule VI substances, as well as two counts of child endangerment.

After the arrest, the local police department wrote on Facebook:

“The charges and indictments referenced in this release are merely allegations of criminal conduct, not evidence. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.”

According to US Weekly, through public information officer Stephen Sutton, Child Protective Services is investigating what happened to Amy Slaton.

He told this newspaper on September 3 that “a plan has been made involving the parents and investigations are still underway on where the children will be kept.”

Slaton has a four-year-old son, Gauge, and a two-year-old son, Glenn, with ex-husband Michael Halterman; she currently spends 70% of her time with the children.

It is still unclear whether the children were present when their mother was arrested – but it is important to stress that she was He has been charged with two counts of child endangerment,

A man named Brian Scott Lovvorn was in the car with Slaton and has also been charged with the same alleged crime.

“We have these drugs in the car and there are two people and two children,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement, confirming that Gage and Glenn were indeed there.

As of Monday night, Slaton and Lovvorn were still in custody awaiting their bail hearings.

We cannot verify at this time if her children are with their father, or who is taking care of them.

Since Halterman filed for divorce in March 2023 after four years of marriage, Slaton has shared details of subsequent relationships with her fans on social media, though we’ve never heard of this Brian guy before.

Last we heard Slaton was dating someone named Kevin.

But that relationship had a bad ending.

“I love you all the last few days have been so bad and fuck him!” Amy commented on a March 11 TikTok, adding, “Don’t cry over him losing.”

Amy Slaton has been starring in 1000-Lb Sisters alongside her sister Tammy Slaton since 2020.

The TLC series follows the women’s day-to-day lives as they go through their weight loss journeys. It also covers their personal lives, including Amy’s separation from her husband last year.

Neither Michael nor Tammy have spoken publicly about Amy’s arrest.

The star himself has also not yet issued any kind of statement.
