Well, after months of hemming and hawing and plenty of tense negotiations between rival factions of the royal family, it looks like Prince Harry Desire Next month attend the coronation of King Charles.
Of course, that doesn’t mean the hatchet has been buried and all of a sudden all is well between the Windsors.
In fact, Harry’s decision to give in to his father’s demands may indicate that father-son tensions are higher than ever.
There are those who believe that Harry is only attending the coronation because he was essentially forced to, and that Meghan’s absence from the event will serve as the couple’s tacit protest of Charlie’s kingship.
yes we are really in game of Thrones Area here, people!
Here’s what we know about the situation so far:
Charles’ goons are clearly thrilled to have guaranteed Harry’s presence, and they were quick to issue an announcement regarding the Sussex family’s travel plans:
“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend a coronation service at Westminster Abbey on 6 May,” read the official announcement.
“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
Team Charles will probably claim that Meghan and the kids were left behind because the coronation is on the day of Archie’s birthday, but more likely they just didn’t want to go.
But wouldn’t it have been a more powerful message if Harry had stayed at home too?
Why did Harry decide to bow to the king and travel intercontinentally for his father’s big day?
Well, it is possible that he was scared of what the consequences would be if he didn’t do it.
A source close to the royals recently revealed, “It has long been suggested that the couple should be stripped of their titles as they abandoned their duties and uprooted for a new life in California.” mirror,
Royal expert and author Robert Jobson recently confirmed that the idea of Harry and Meghan losing their titles is currently being “discussed at the highest level”.
And while Jobson acknowledged it was possible that Harry was threatened with loss of his title, he noted that Charles is “not understood to be in favor of the move” because of his “enduring love for his son”. .
“The idea of stripping Harry of his Duke of Sussex title has been discussed at the highest level. The monarch is said to be not in favor but other senior royals are less lenient,” the author explained.
“After all, despite Charles’ abiding love for his son, he will come under pressure if Harry continues to attack the monarchy.”
Still, just knowing that the idea was being discussed may have been enough to persuade Harry to attend the coronation.
But apparently, Meghan isn’t intimidated so easily! At least someone is standing by the king!
