Kim Kardashian is coming to a small screen near you later this year.
No, she doesn’t have any new sex tapes… that we know of.
And, no, this is not a reference to The Kardashians season 3, the trailer for which just hit the internet.
Instead, we’re talking about the unexpected news that this longtime reality star is landing a starring role in American Horror Story Season 12.
As a character written specifically with her in mind, Kardashian will join returning series alum Emma Roberts on the drama — which, in a first for the popular show, will be written and produced by Hailey Pfeiffer, a writer.
“Kim is one of the world’s biggest and brightest television stars, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” American Horror Story co-creator Murphy said in a statement Monday.
“Emma and I are excited to collaborate with this true force in culture.
“Hailey Pfeiffer wrote a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we’ve done before.”
While no further details about Kim and Emma’s roles have been publicly shared at this time, The Hollywood Reporter says that season 12 will be based on author Danielle Valentine’s upcoming book “Delicate Conditions.”
The novel, which will be released in August, focuses on a woman named Anna Alcott who begins to start a family.
However, midway through her pregnancy journey, she becomes convinced that someone is trying to stop her dream of a baby from coming true.
Kardashian reportedly made a positive impression on Murphy while hosting Saturday Night Live in 2021.
In addition to her famous reality TV career over the years, the mother of four has several acting credits, including the series CSI: NY, Drop Dead Diva, and Beyond the Break.
American Horror Story tapped Jessica Lange for the starring role in season one and has often employed big names in fascinating capacities since then.
The program famously featured Lady Gaga, whose acting credits in season five led to her own elaborate music video … paving the way for her successful film career.
