Manchester United are set to play Everton next Saturday (8 April) at Old Trafford in a Premier League clash. Mark Lawrenson has predicted that the Red Devils will pick up a 2-0 win in the home game.

United is fourth in the Premier League with 53 points from 28 games. Everton, meanwhile, ranks 16th with 27 points in 29 games.

Sharing his game prediction for Paddy Power, Lawrenson stated:

“It was another good result for Everton on Monday night against Spurs, but I’m going for Manchester United to win it. They were good enough against Brentford in the week, even if 1-0 doesn’t sound so impressive, but they were pretty comfortable overall and got over the Newcastle loss Everton will stay up because they have a lot of fighting, just ask Harry Kane!

His final score forecast was a 2-0 victory in favor of the hosts. United enter the contest following a 1-0 home win against Brentford on 5 April.

Everton, meanwhile, held to a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in their last Premier League clash. Michael Keane scored the last minute equalizer for Sean Dyche’s side against Spurs.

United returned to winning ways in their last game against Brentford after being beaten by Newcastle United on April 2.

While Erik ten Hag got the response he surely wanted from his side, the Dutch coach urged his team to be consistent.

Speaking ahead of the Everton clash, he told the media (via Man United’s official website):

“We have to do it every game and that requires preparation and it has to be the standard when you play for Manchester United. So this is the demand, no buts, you have to do it and that’s the responsibility.” a player has to deliver when you play for Manchester United. So you have to be responsible.”

United are currently battling with Newcastle United and Tottenham to finish in the top four in the Premier League and secure UEFA Champions League football next season.
