The Golden State Warriors had a good start to the season, but they haven’t been able to maintain that momentum.
They have lost six of their last ten games, falling to an 18-18 record and ninth place in the Western Conference. On top of that, star Steph Curry hasn’t looked like his usual self this season, battling a nagging knee injury and failing to put the team on his shoulders night after night.
That’s why NBA expert Sam Amick thinks he may not even make the All-Star Game this season.

“We might be entertaining the idea that (Steph Curry) might have a hard time making the All-Star roster even though the game is in San Francisco,” Amick said on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back.”
So far, Curry has averaged roughly under 23 points and six assists per game on 45% shooting from the field, and while those numbers aren’t bad, he hasn’t been as explosive as he has been in the past.
Steve Kerr admits Steph Curry is struggling with losses
Steph Curry hasn’t shied away from having uncomfortable conversations this season. He has been open about his team’s shortcomings and is clearly not having a good time at the moment.
The Golden State Warriors lost two games in a row, both by a margin, and Curry’s body language said everything that needed to be said.
Following their lopsided loss to the Miami Heat, coach Steve Kerr admitted that his superstar point guard was struggling to cope with all the losses.
“I can see it with Steph. He has continued to shine night after night, but deep down he is a winner. He is a champion. Likewise, he wants to compete at the highest level,” Kerr said. “He’s really struggling with the emotion of not being competitive right now. “He probably hasn’t had to deal with this since his first few years in the league.”
The Warriors are currently a play-in team, but with the San Antonio Spurs and perhaps the Phoenix Suns or Sacramento Kings closing in, some believe they may not even have a chance to make the playoffs this season.
It’s still early in the year and the Warriors are expected to be very aggressive in landing another star before the February 6 trade deadline.
