Jessica Alba has broken her silence.
Just over a week after we reported that Alba was splitting from her husband Cash Warren, the star has taken to Instagram to speak out on the unfortunate situation.
The statement below is Alba’s first public comments regarding the development.
Alba wrote, “I have been on a journey of self-actualization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash.”
“I am proud of how we have grown as a couple and in our marriage over the past 20 years and now the time has come for us to begin a new chapter of growth and development as individuals.
“We move forward with love, kindness and respect for each other and will always be family. Our children are our top priority and we request privacy at this time.
Alba and Warren met in 2004 on the set of Fantastic Four, a film in which Alba starred and Warren worked behind the scenes.
They were married in May 2008 and have three children: daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 7.
Warren has yet to address the end of their marriage, while Alba captioned her latest post with a simple white heart.
Just days before outlets confirmed that Alba and Warren were going their separate ways, Alba uploaded a montage of family photos as her loved ones enjoyed a day at Universal Studios Hollywood in honor of Hayes’ birthday .
“The best day ever to celebrate our 7 year old boy, Hayes, at #UniversalStudios,” the Honest Company founder wrote on social media at the time.
“Thanks for having us, @unistudios.”
Still, there have been signs of some trouble between the husband and wife.
For example, in a cryptic message on New Year’s Eve, Alba wrote that her 2024 was “full of connection, growth, adventure, laughter, peace, sisterhood, change, rebirth, happiness and lots of love.”
Earlier, Alba didn’t seem too excited about their union while speaking to Katherine Schwarzenegger on a podcast.
“I would say everything will be great for two and a half years,” Alba told the host about being married. “But then you become roommates. You’re just going through the motions, responsibilities. “It’s a lot like checking boxes.”
Perhaps this is the situation for some people.
Alba also said this about Warren during this interview:
“I think he probably got the short end of the stick.
‘I will say We‚It’s not even him, I’d say it’s us, right?
“Because when I’m seeing her and spending time with her, and we really enjoy each other, that’s our kind of thing. And it feeds me too.”
