We don’t need to tell you that these are very stressful times in the Los Angeles area.
Devastating wildfires have ravaged the region, causing dozens of deaths and destroying thousands of homes and businesses.
Countless celebrities have had to vacate their homes, including Ben Affleck who was forced to leave a $20.5 million mansion he purchased just last year.
Ben has since been able to return home, but it seems life is still not back to normal for the Oscar winner.
Ben Affleck meets with federal law enforcement agents
Earlier this week, Affleck received a meeting with the FBI.
It sounds scary, but the agency made it clear that Ben was not in any kind of trouble.
The FBI told Page Six that the visit was related to an investigation into “activity in the area of the Palisades Fire regarding unauthorized drone activity.”
These fires and the devastation they have caused are unprecedented, so it makes sense that officials are keeping an eye on Los Angeles County like never before.
“FBI agents were at Affleck’s home to see if he had CCTV footage of a personal drone that damaged a Super Scooper, one of the firefighting planes,” a source told the outlet.
We don’t know what kind of conversation took place between Ben and the FBI. But based on photos of the encounter, their exchange appeared to be peaceful.
Ben’s encounter with the LAPD
Unfortunately, it looks like things may have gotten a little tense when Ben had a run-in with the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to Page Six, police were also “assisting with a grid search for unauthorized drones” in the area.
The outlet reports that Ben appeared “visibly upset” and “very excited” while exchanging words with two officers in a police cruiser.
The increased police presence in the area was reportedly a result of drone positions and claims that private security forces hired by Ben’s neighbors were preventing people from returning to their homes.
It’s unclear how Ben got stuck in that scenario, but Page Six reports that he was “eventually able to get to his residence” after speaking with police.
trying time
These are difficult times for LA County residents, and we’re sure there have been a lot of tense conversations over the past week.
But a source close to Ben assured fans that Ben, 52, considers himself lucky that his home escaped unscathed, and is now focused on helping those who were not so lucky.
“Ben knows a lot of people who unfortunately lost their homes,” the insider told Page Six.
“She has seen a lot of devastation, and it’s very sad. …Ben is reaching out to anyone he can for help.”
Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by this devastating disaster.
