Former IBF bantamweight champion Ebanie Bridges has always challenged convention in the boxing world. From her beginnings as a ring girl in Australia, where women were banned from competing in the ring, to becoming a world champion, her journey has inspired a new wave of female wrestlers, including former Playboy model Amber Fields.
talking to Daily star sportBridges highlighted the lack of respect ring girls often face, even from other female wrestlers. She shared the story of Amber Fields, a former Playboy model and ring girl, who joined Misfits Boxing after being inspired by Bridges’ success:
“I’m always rooting for the ring girls, because a lot of people don’t respect them. Even some of the other wrestlers don’t pay much attention to the ring girls… You know, obviously I’ve been there and I also had a ring girl named Amber Fields, she is in the United States who I inspired to start boxing. She joined Misfits and told me: ‘You know you inspired me a lot because you were a ring girl! Now your World Champion made me want to start boxing. ‘”
Reflecting on her career, Bridges acknowledged how her time as a ring girl helped build a loyal fan base that followed her into professional boxing.

“For me, being a ring girl, actually, when I transitioned to fighting, I had so many fans from being a ring girl in Australia that they all followed my boxing career. It gave me a good start!”
Ebanie Bridges talks about her pregnancy and her plans to return to boxing
Ebanie Bridges surprised fans with the announcement of her pregnancy during a September appearance on Misfits Boxing’s X Series 18. The former IBF women’s bantamweight champion, who has been out of the spotlight since her December 2023 loss to Miyo Yoshida, is now preparing for motherhood. as he contemplates a boxing comeback.
In another interview with The daily star38 years old, shared his ideas about his current life. Despite stepping away from competition, Bridges remains active in the gym, training his friends and preparing them for fights. However, his desire to return to the ring is palpable. She confessed:
“My knuckles are very itchy and I’m looking forward to getting back in the ring in a big way… [Also] “I never thought I’d say it, but I miss running, I wish I could run.”
Looking ahead, Bridges aims to return to boxing in late 2025, with the possibility of staging his return in Leeds, where he has built a loyal fan base.
