Google plans to add conversational AI capabilities to its flagship search engine, Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai says, as he leads the tech company’s response to competition from chatbots such as ChatGPT and to
broader commercial pressures.
Advances in AI would increase Google’s ability to answer a range of search queries, Pichai said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. He dismissed the idea that chatbots were a threat to Google’s search business, which accounts for more than half of the parent company’s revenue Alphabet Inc.
