Popular Indian player Yuvraj Singh turned 43 today (Thursday, December 12). The legendary all-rounder is enjoying huge fanfare due to his record-breaking performances on the field.

Yuvraj was a weapon fielder and performed with both bat and bowl during his career. The Punjab-born is a player who has won the World Cup twice (T20 in 2007 and ODI in 2011).

The left-hander notably won the Player of the Tournament award at the 2011 World Cup while battling cancer, becoming an inspiration to many. He was the first player to smash six sixes in the T20 World Cup (off Stuart Broad against England in 2007).

On the special occasion, Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh wished Yuvraj and praised him for breaking ‘boundaries’, surpassing ‘boundaries’ and writing ‘history’ in her birthday wish.

Yuvraj Singh enjoyed a successful international career, amassing over 10,000 runs and picking up 150 wickets across all formats. He also scored 4,857 runs in 231 T20Is, winning two IPL trophies with SunRisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.

Off the field, Yuvraj Singh was quite popular for his looks and physique. According to a report by Bollywoodhshadis.com, he has dated several B-Town actresses: Kim Sharma, Preeti Jhangiani, Deepika Padukone, Riya Sen, Minissha Lamba, Preity Zinta and Neha Dhupia.


When Yuvraj Singh revealed that he wore women’s slippers at the airport because of a mistake by a Bollywood actress he dated.

In a recent interview, Yuvraj Singh revealed that he had to wear women’s slippers due to the actions of a Bollywood actress during the 2008 tour Down Under. He told the Club Prairie Fire Podcast (via ABP):

“She was filming in Adelaide. I said, listen, we won’t see each other for a while because I’m on tour in Australia and I need to focus. She followed me to Canberra on the bus. In two tests, I didn’t get many runs. And I was like, ‘What are you doing here?’ And she said, ‘I want to spend time with you.'”

“I told her you need to focus on your career and I need to focus on mine because I’m touring Australia and you know what that means. Anyway, we were going to Adelaide from Canberra and she packed my suitcase.”

“In the morning I thought, ‘Where are my shoes?’ She said, “I packed them.” I asked her, ‘How would it go on the bus?’ And she said, ‘Wear mine.’ She had pink slip-ons and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ I had to wear those pink slip-ons and I was carrying my bag in front of my shoes to hide them. The boys. “They saw it and applauded me. I had to wear pink slip-on shoes to the airport until I bought the sandals.”

Yuvraj Singh was recently appointed as the ICC global brand ambassador for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
