LONDON (Reuters) – British retail sales rose a less than expected 0.2% in November, according to Office for National Statistics figures, adding to signs of slow momentum in the economy.
A Reuters poll of economists had forecast a 0.5% monthly rise in sales volumes from October.
The monthly rise in sales was the first since August, but during the three months to November, volumes rose just 0.3%, the weakest performance since the three months to June, the ONS said on Friday.
The pound was little changed against the US dollar immediately after the data.
