Why do fans think Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift are feuding?
Last year, Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes looked nearly inseparable at Kansas City Chiefs games.
Brittany’s husband, Patrick Mahomes, is a football player on the same team as Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Their collaboration – the two watched games together – helped make the Mahomes couple almost household names, even outside sports fans.
However, this football season has seen less of Taylor and Brittany getting together. Have they watched the game together? Yes. But not that many.
Famously, Taylor Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in this year’s election, and has used her huge platform to try to make the world a better place in many ways.
Brittany Mahomes, meanwhile, has played coy in some ways, but publicly “liked” a post from disgraced former (and future) President Donald Trump on Instagram. People are reading between the lines of that and retreat,
Between this — so compromise-breaking that many people changed Thanksgiving plans this year, ended friendships, and more — and less time spent watching sports together, are Taylor and Brittany feuding?
Are Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift all good?
Most recently, both Patrick and Brittany Mahomes attended a party themed to the Era’s Tour.
Britney took to Instagram to call the people at the event — including Taylor herself — “my people” with a heart-hand emoji.
Many people will smile politely and make small talk with a coworker or neighbor with obnoxious political leanings because, as awkward as it is to say, we live in a societyBut you don’t have to invite someone to a party if you’re having a fight — and, in turn, they don’t have to promote the gathering on social media.
Think about it, Taylor had to miss several Chiefs games this season (mainly) due to his intense Eras World Tour schedule.
She and Travis love to support each other openly and directly. But they both also know that their professional obligations come first.
So perhaps the alleged “rift” between Taylor and Britney is a public perception that has nothing to do with how they feel about each other. Sometimes, people are just busy.
Are fans and critics being unfair?
It is noteworthy that the disgraced former President has publicly praised Brittany Mahomes. Despite her torturous “likes” on Instagram, she hasn’t really returned that energy.
Obviously, it is wise to keep an eye on who might be a Trump supporter. But it is normal to make such allegations without evidence Stan Behavior among Swifties – but perhaps indecent for adults.
Trump tweeted “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” in all caps like a rambunctious 11-year-old who hates his sister’s music. Brittany, at least, clearly doesn’t feel the same way. Unless he said something really embarrassing, there’s no harm in giving him the benefit of the doubt.
