Congratulations to Kristen Doute and her long distance boyfriend Luke Broderick!
This was the question many fans had in mind during the first season of Bravo valley The question was whether these two would welcome the child together. She desperately wanted a child and much of this season focused on Kristen’s unique relationship with Luke.
And just before Thanksgiving, the couple had something to be incredibly grateful for – a new baby!

valley The star’s rep confirmed the good news exclusively to PEOPLE a few days before the holidays. Along with the big announcement, the outlet published some sweet photos with Kristen showing off her ultrasound.
The journey has been difficult, but as Kristen tells it, the result has been worth it.
“After our pregnancy loss last year, we decided to start trying in early 2024,” says Doute. “I knew my age could be a factor in conceiving, so Luke and I discussed trying extra hard, getting a little help.”
“At the end of the summer, we decided to meet with a fertility specialist to learn about our options and what the next steps might be if we decided to go that route. The next month was a whirlwind – getting education on fertility, and ultimately preparing my body for hormone shots and IUI (intrauterine insemination),” she adds.

“I was relieved, overwhelmed, happy, excited and nervous,” she said. “When I told Luke the second time, he wasn’t surprised, but was very happy that the IUI worked the first time (we were prepared that it might not happen). He was happy and extremely excited, at least that much. So, our due date is in June and we are really looking forward to expanding our little family and becoming parents!”
During the first season of valleyWhich began last year, when Kristen shocked her friends — and probably some viewers — by revealing that she and Luke were planning to start a family together — even though he lives in Colorado, her in L.A. About 800 miles from home.
Kristen had a very specific timetable in mind and told her friends that she hoped to reach the destination by the end of summer 2023.
Obviously, it took longer than she expected, but in the end, she got what she always wanted. Especially considering his tragic loss last year.
Sadly, Kristen suffered a miscarriage after six weeks of pregnancy last year.
She says she was diagnosed with a blighted ovum, which means the embryo has not developed or is not fully developed.

Kristen shared the news on the podcast “Sex, Love, and What Else Matters,” which she co-hosts with Luke.
“I only feel comfortable talking about it because I know a lot of my friends have gone through it,” Kristen said during the Nov. 26 episode of her podcast.
“And it’s really scary because you always think, ‘What’s wrong, what did I do wrong? Could I have done something different?’
“And my doctors and my friends have told me, in and out, up and down, there’s no reason for it. They don’t know why.”
But Kristen and Luke kept trying!
Our hearts go out to Kristen and Luke, and we applaud them for speaking openly about their loss.
And the good news is that they stayed together and now their dream of starting a family is coming true.
In a May interview with PeopleKristen confirmed that she and Luke are still trying.
“I mean, it gives us hope. I guess it’s not a false sense of hope. We, at the time, had only been trying for a few months and we were pretty lucky,’ Kristen told the outlet.
“So we just tried and got back on the train. We are doing exactly what we should be doing every month. So yes, we’re just hopeful.”
Kristen hasn’t announced a follow-up yet, but fans are hopeful she’ll offer an update soon.

Whatever the case, Kristen is in pretty healthy condition these days.
Luke is very different from Kristen’s previous boyfriends and according to those who know her best, that’s a good thing.
“When Kristen started dating Luke, I didn’t watch it because she went from having these crazy personalities to this mountain man boyfriend now,” Kristen’s friend Jasmine Good commented. valleySeason premiere.

Things changed in April 2024, when Kristen felt she needed to save her pregnancy journey from a fellow VR alumna.

I think it was just Jax’s way of distracting himself from having to deal with his own stuff.”
