Taylor Lautner has been there, guys.
He really, really is.
And now as a result we may need to pray for the actor.
Last Saturday, Lautner took to TikTok to take part in the latest viral trend… which features a user making a bold statement before “accidentally” turning on the camera.
In his case, Lautner went much further back in time, beginning his footage with a look at the 2011 blockbuster The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 as it played on a flat-screen television and at that scene. Was centered where Bella Swan’s wedding takes place. Her vampire lover, Edward Cullen.
(Swan was played by Kristen Stewart and Cullen was played by Robert Pattinson, both of whom became huge stars after playing these beloved roles.)
Lautner – who played Edward’s occasional rival, Jacob, and who has starred in Shark Boy and Lava Girl – wrote on the clip:
“Honestly screw Edward. “Bella should have ended up with Jacob.”
The 32-year-old then jokingly turned the camera towards himself and pretended to be shocked and scared by writing “Oh no, no, no” on the screen.
Obviously he was just having fun, but Lautner was also taking a chance since the Bella/Edward romance was dominating pop culture at the time.
Stewart and Pattinson became a couple during the filming of the franchise, and loyal fans of the Twilight Saga engaged in considerable debate over who Bella should have married.
Now we know where Lautner stands.
Thankfully, Lautner earned praise for his joke, because almost every user was well aware that he was just kidding.
For example, one person wrote in response, “She won this trend.”
“This made my year,” said another.
Lautner starred as Jacob Black in the Twilight Saga from 2008 to 2012, earning him critical acclaim and comparisons to Pattinson.
“We never really connected on a deep level because we’re different human beings,” Lotter explained about her former co-star on the Call Her Daddy podcast last year. Pattinson is “brilliant” and “the sweetest person ever”.
