It appears that a tragedy has been averted when it comes to Jason “Sundance” Head, the singer best known for winning The Voice in 2016.

But the artist can still use a whole bunch of ideas and prayers.

Late Friday night, the star’s agent told The New York Post that Head was shot “in the naval area,” but thankfully the wound missed all his vital organs.

The incident happened at Head’s Texas farm when the singer was all alone.

“This is Misty – I don’t have a lot of details but please keep Sundance in your prayers,” Head’s wife wrote in her first update on Facebook.

“According to the paramedics who called me, Sundance died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. They stabilized him for flight (according to the paramedic) We are now on our way to Tyler.

“Again that was the only information I had at the time. Please just keep him in your prayers.”

A short time later, Misty provided a follow-up message that calmed followers’ panic and also provided several other important details.

“It was not his hunting rifle and no one shot him,” he posted on Facebook Friday night. “He was coming out of the vehicle to grab his 22, when he grabbed it the 22 came out of its holster and hit the outside of the Jeep and went off.”

Misty elaborated as follows:

“Sundance said it happened very fast and he could see the bullet disintegrating. I thought he called 911, but he didn’t – he put his hand in his pocket for the phone immediately after the injury, but the phone wasn’t there, just covered in blood, so he went to stop a car. Left from the path leading to the main road. help.

“After 10 cars someone came to help and called 911.”

Very good. Crazy, huh?!?

Sundance competed on season 11 of The Voice as part of coach Blake Shelton’s team and won, defeating rivals Billy Gilman, Josh Gallagher, and Way McDonald.

Most notably, Head won over fans with versions of the track featuring superstars like Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Keith Urban.

Misty also wrote, “Since there has been no surgery to remove the bullet (it is safe to leave to the doctor as per trauma) they are releasing him.” “I am concerned that they are releasing him so soon, really grateful for the care he is getting. His wound is already bleeding and no antibiotics or painkillers are being sent home. He will probably be taken home and given a second opinion…

“How strange that 7 hours ago his life was taken away and now he is being released… prayers for speedy recovery continue.”
