Who went home? Dancing with the Stars tonight?

The new season of the popular reality competition show started with a bang, with several couples securing 20+ points in their very first attempt.

Of course, fans instantly found their favorites, and they rallied behind their favorite Olympians, reality stars, and even criminals.

But someone has to go home, and honestly, the first contestant to be eliminated from the competition probably wasn’t that shocking.

Who went home tonight on ‘Dancing With the Stars’?

It was a double elimination in Week 1. While many people bet on Eric Roberts and Carl Winslow, eh, Reginald to be eliminated, they both stayed safe.

No, it was the women who were ultimately eliminated. Tori Spelling and Anna Delvey, who fans wanted out immediately, were both eliminated.

Which was probably a good thing. When Julianne Hough asked Anna what she would miss about this experience, her answer said it all:

“Nothing,” Anna replied.

Anna obviously doesn’t have time for this. Anna doesn’t have time for you.

We feel bad for Tori though. This would have been a great incentive to return.

Top Scores of the past week

at the premiere of Dancing with the StarsJoey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson started the evening with a cha cha to their lively song, “Dancin’ in the Country,” and earned a respectable score of 21. Given Joey’s history with dancing (Bachelor Nation, you know what we’re talking about), this was an unexpected performance to start the night.

Danny Amendola and Witney Carson then took a different route with a sweet tango on “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” [Remix]“The Song of Summer routine earned them 20 points.

Then some unknown contestants emerged from the competition.

Chandler Kinney, an unknown star to the older audience, and his partner Brandon Armstrong really shone with their tango to “Hot to Go!”, scoring 23 points and emerging as the best performance of the night. They advanced as the best performers of the night.

Footballer Dwight Howard and Daniela Karagach performed a great salsa to the song “This Is How We Do It”, which earned them 22 points. Finally, Stefan Nedorosik and Riley Arnold performed a jive set to the song “Don’t Stop Me Now”, which earned them 21 points.

Let’s see if they can do the same next week!

How are the Scores calculated

The scoring works like this. Winners and losers are determined based on the combined score from judges and audience votes. Therefore, whatever score Bruno, Carrie Ann and Derek give to the contestants only counts for 50% of their total score.

The remaining 50% is calculated by audience votes. Fans can vote online or via text message to save their favorite couple. The couple with the lowest combined score will be eliminated.

Now, the show used to have an element called the “Judges Save.” Executive producer Deena Katz told TVLine that the Judges Save — which was in place since Season 28 — was a no-go, at least in the public eye. dance‘s creative team members’ votes were reduced in influence.

“I think it should be about America,” Katz said. “And at the end of the day, defending judges sometimes isn’t what America wanted. And [eliminations are based on] Half the judges and half America voting, and that’s why we did it.”

Who Will Win ‘Dancing With the Stars’ This Season?

After 33 seasons, it might seem like it would be easy to spot a winner among the losers of the first dance.

But historically, the star who scores the highest in their first dance rarely ends up winning the whole thing. Last season, Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy tied for 5th place after their first dance. And, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev came in third after their first routine two years ago.

After all was said and done, everyone got the Mirrorball trophy.

So who will win this year? We’re going to guess the top 3 from Jen Tran, Stefan Nedorosik, and Chandler Kinney.

But we leave room for you to change your mind as the season progresses!
