Is there really a feud between Martha Stewart and Ina Garten?
Ina Garten has a lot to say about life, her marriage, and her amazing career. Her new memoir, which hits bookshelves on October 1, tells a powerful story about her journey.
Part of that journey was another cultural icon, Martha Stewart. The two have been associated with each other for decades. And, obviously, their careers have had a lot in common.
The two women recall a time when they had a falling out. Martha Stewart remembers it as a “very unpleasant” time when she needed a friend the most.

According to Ina Garten, she and Martha Stewart felt tension in their relationship.

A chance meeting between Martha Stewart and Ina Garten in the 90s resulted in the two starting to work together.
What started as Stewart’s craving for lemon slices turned into Ina Garten doing catering for benefits and other functions at Stewart’s home.

What Martha Stewart said about Ina Garten
Martha Stewart said plainly, “When I was sent to Alderson prison, he stopped talking to me.”
The incident stems from an alleged crime that occurred in 2004.
“I found it extremely distressing and distasteful,” he said.
Most of us remember the gruesome case when Martha Stewart was sentenced to five months in prison, followed by five months of house arrest and two years of supervised release.
All of this was due to alleged insider trading by ImClone Systems amounting to about $45,000. And, authorities claimed, lied to investigators.
Martha Stewart has steadfastly maintained her innocence. Many feel the federal desire to make an example of a beloved celebrity was a mistake and may have backfired. Insider trading is improper, but prison time for a relatively small stock sale by someone allegedly acting on a broker’s tip seems like a gross miscarriage of justice.
So what is the truth?
Ina Garten “strongly” refuted Martha Stewart’s account of how their friendship ended.
However, both versions of events are completely compatible. What one person sees as a slowly fading friendship, another may see as a relationship coming to an abrupt end. This is even though no one is a celebrity and no one goes to jail.
You hate to see two queens fighting. But then again, this doesn’t seem like an active feud. It’s just two different versions of a quiet feud.
