She leads the competition with 10 nominations and if she wins 7 or more, she will take away a very important title from Beyoncé.
With a stellar lineup of performers, many of whom are friends of Taylor’s, it looks like she’ll be making an appearance this year.
Plus, fans should keep their hopes high as Taylor might even make a big announcement at the show!
Taylor Swift arrives at the 2024 VMAs
There she is! In all her glory, in autumn colors, covered in leather? Nothing has ever looked quite like a Raid/Reputation crossover!
She was undoubtedly one of the last to hit the carpet, but she made it in just in time to dance to Eminem’s opening performance.
Now, no one has confirmed that she will be there tonight. But honestly, they didn’t need to. There was no chance of Taylor missing the big night.
Taylor completed the international leg of her Eras Tour in August, and her final North American leg won’t begin until October.
The tour break has given Taylor a full month to relax, as well as a free evening to enjoy being honored for her incredible visual work this year.
It’ll also be a night when she can meet some friends! Also on the list for the performance are Sabrina Carpenter, one of Taylor’s friends and opener for the Eras Tour; Halsey, who is a friend and a major Swiftie; and Lenny Kravtiz, who is the father of Zoe Kravtiz, who is also a member of the team.
And let’s not forget Taylor’s former friend Katy Perry. She’s receiving the Vanguard Award and it would almost be fate if Swift was there to present it to her!
But there was another reason Taylor was a certainty for appearing at the VMAs.

The last time Taylor Swift attended an awards show, she was at the Grammy Awards in February. During her acceptance speech, she announced the release of The Tortured Poets Society.
Now, remember when Taylor Swift attended the VMAs in 2022. She also did the same stunt, announcing Midnights during one of her speeches.
A pattern is forming, and while there are inconsistencies, it’s been a year since Taylor has released a re-recording.

How many VMAs has Taylor Swift won?
Swift leads the VMAs with 10 nominations — eight for her “Fortnite” music video — and she also received nominations in the artist of the year and best pop categories.

The VMAs will air live on September 11 at 8pm Eastern Time from the UBS Arena on Long Island, New York.
