Johnny Depp is showing off new pearly white teeth a year after photos of his “rotten” teeth went viral.
Yes, most of the media coverage about Depp in recent years hasn’t been positive at all.
But in this case, unlike the tangled lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, Pirates of the Caribbean The star put some screentime on the problem and called it a day.
Johnny Depp’s teeth: What’s going on in there?
When he appeared at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023, Depp’s teeth became a subject of fascination on social media.
According to Page Six, one X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, “Johnny Depp’s teeth are literally rotting.”
Another tweeted: “Johnny Depp looks like someone has taken a bite out of his teeth and painted them black.”
A third asked: “Why do I have to look at close-up photos of Johnny Depp’s teeth against my will?”
“Looking at that picture of Johnny Depp’s teeth [timeline] “Just ruined my mood. Enough Twitter for me,” said a fourth.
Depp doesn’t make as many public appearances as he used to, so his teeth issue was largely forgotten after Cannes.
However, the issue has come to the fore again this week thanks to an unexpected Instagram post.
Is Depp’s dental issue resolved?
As you can see, Depp was recently in his natural habitat (a bar in the Bahamas). And an Instagram video posted by a local bartender showed the star wearing some new and improved chompers.
“Am I right too? [sic] One commenter wrote, “Did you notice her teeth look brighter than ever?”
“it is [me] or does [sic] Another asked: “Do his teeth look straighter?”
“Def got his teeth fixed! Looks great,” a third commented.
What caused the damage to Depp’s teeth?
So it looks like Depp has gotten his teeth fixed. But what was wrong with them in the first place?
“He has exhaustion, which is the cumulative effect of a lifetime of it,” celebrity dentist Dr. Apa recently told Page Six.
“Dress like that – sometimes we see it in very aggressive cases in people in their 30s, and sometimes we see it in cases like Depp’s.”
The dentist speculated that the stains on Depp’s teeth were possibly a result of the actor’s known fondness for cigarettes, coffee and red wine.
Depp has had dental problems for a long time and openly discussed the issue in an interview in 1995. Premiere magazine.
“I have a lot of cavities in my tooth. I had a root canal eight years ago that still hasn’t come off. It’s like a rotten little piece of it,” Depp said at the time.
“It seems like when Indians made something out of beads, they always put imperfections in it,” he said. “I’m proud of them.”
Thankfully, it looks like Johnny has now fixed the problem, presumably with a set of Depp dentures.
The rest of his public image won’t be so easy to fix. But hey – slow progress is better than no progress at all!
