Amy Slaton is in some pretty serious legal trouble.
On September 2, the 1000-lb Sisters cast member was arrested at a zoo in Tennessee after police received a report that a guest had been bitten by a camel.
“Upon arrival, police officers were immediately startled by a suspicious odor coming from the guest’s vehicle,” police later said in a statement released on social media.
From there, Slaton and a man named Brian Scott Lovvorn were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of Schedule I, unlawful possession of Schedule IV and two counts of child endangerment.
According to TMZ and other media outlets, it’s unclear at this time what prompted the child endangerment charges; we don’t know who the child in question is; nor do we know what drugs were allegedly being used.

“The charges and indictments outlined in this release are merely allegations of criminal conduct, not evidence,” the sheriff’s department said in its Facebook post.
“The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.”
Alongside her sister Tammy, Slaton has starred in 1000-Lb Sisters — which documents the ups and downs of the pair’s respective weight-loss journeys — since its premiere in 2020.
She divorced her husband Michael earlier this year, several months after the couple separated; she has two young sons – Gage Dion (4 years old) and Glenn Allen (2 years old).
Amy opened up about the process of ending her marriage on a Season 5 episode of her TLC reality show, saying, “Although the divorce happened in a shorter time than expected, like less than six months, it has taken a toll on my mental and physical health, which I am seeking help for.”
She had earlier accused her ex-husband of “mental abuse”.
Amy and Michael were lovers since their high school days and got married in 2019.
Unfortunately, their marriage ended on a bad note, as at one point, Michael filed a restraining order against his ex-wife.
In this filing, Michael requested that he and Amy be prevented from making “any public statements or social media postings regarding this lawsuit or each other.”
He also suggested that he and Amy engage in a “shared parenting program.”
In the end, Amy was awarded 70% custody of both of their kids… while Michael would get to spend 30% of the year with them.
Speaking about becoming a parent following the birth of their son, Glenn, during a 2023 episode of the hit TLC reality program, Slaton said the following:
“My heart is full.
“I wanted to be a mother since I was 5 and I always wanted two children. Our family is finally complete. Now we can capture ourselves in a frame and hang it on the wall.”
