Cheryl, of course, is a Hollywood veteran, known for her work in curb Your Enthusiasm,

Since 2014, she has been the wife of controversial politician Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is currently running for president as an independent candidate.

This situation may soon change, as well as their marital status, as RFK Jr. himself has suggested that a separation would be in the best interest of Sheryl’s public image.

But we’re moving on now. First off, if Cheryl is going to get a divorce, she knows how to proceed.

Cheryl Hines divorce: Her first marriage to Paul Young ended very quickly

Cheryl married talent agent Paul Young in 2002. Although Cheryl often refers to Larry David as her “first husband” because of their TV wedding, Paul is the first man she has been legally married to.

Their time together was very happy, the two gave birth to a daughter, Katherine Rose Young born in 2004. Everything seemed fine.

Then, in 2010, after eight years of marriage, Cheryl and Paul decided to call it quits amicably. The reason was never revealed, but they assured their fans that they would remain friends going forward.

“They will remain very close friends and will continue to raise their daughter together,” representatives for the former couple said in a statement.

And he was true to his word. Paul served as a producer on Hines’ new show, This Close.

And if that wasn’t enough, Paul, along with Larry and RFK Jr., were in the front row when Cheryl received a star on Hollywood Boulevard in 2014.

So, this is not a messy divorce by any means.

The idea behind the separation from RFK Jr. was for his ‘protection’

For example, in 2022, when Kennedy made a statement comparing the CDC’s vaccine mandates to the policies of Nazi Germany, Cheryl spoke out against the comment.

She tweeted, “My husband’s opinions are not a reflection of mine. Although we love each other, we have different opinions on many current issues…”

“The atrocities that millions of people suffered during the Holocaust should never be compared to any person or thing. Their opinions are not a reflection of my opinions.”

The reaction to Kennedy’s comments was so intense that he suggested a fake separation to protect Cheryl’s career.

“I saw how this was affecting her life, and I said to her, ‘We should just announce that we’re separating,’ so you can get some distance from me,” RFK Jr. explained. the new York Times (via Diversity,

“We weren’t really doing anything, we just – I felt very desperate about her safety at the time when my statements and my decisions were impacting her.”

The couple decided that there was no need to take such a drastic step, and they are happily married.

It seems that Sheryl will never become the First Lady of the United States, but it seems she has no regrets about the fiery man she chose as her life partner.
