As you’ve probably heard by now, the former teen Mom star Chelsea Hauska has moved to HGTV, where she hosts a new home renovation show with her husband, Cole DeBoer.
down home fab may be the latest series on the network’s roster, but it certainly hasn’t struggled to find an audience.
In fact, Chelsea and Cole have quickly become HGTV’s biggest breakout stars!
The pair garnered massive ratings with their first episode, and their viewership has grown in just a matter of weeks.
Now, in a relatively rare move, the network has been renewed down home fab After only two episodes.
That means Chelsea and Cole are on the hunt for new homes to renovate!
Yep, according to a new report from The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, DHF’s production company, RTR Media, is looking for eight homeowners in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, who would like to renovate their homes for the show’s second season.
“Are you dreaming of taking your home from drab to fab?” reads a casting notice posted by RTR this week.
“We want to hear from you!”

In a testament to the show’s popularity, HGTV has increased its run from six episodes in season one to eight in season two.
To qualify, homeowners must be interested in receiving the “luxurious” renovation treatment in at least three or four different rooms.
And here’s the catch that is likely to discourage many potential applicants:
Homeowners must also be prepared to pay at least $75,000 for renovations.
Yep, we think we were wrong in our assumption that HGTV foots the bills for these projects.
An article on the network’s website explained, “There is a common belief that making it on the show leads to free renewals, or at least discounted items.”
“In contrast, landlords have to come up with the money for the projects.”
“Yet, even though it’s an out-of-pocket expense, the main draw is still working with HGTV designers,” Betsy Ayala, senior vice president of production and development for HGTV, said in the piece.
So we guess for each new episode of their show, Chelsea and Cole will need to find a Sioux Falls resident with a sizable home and 75 grand sitting around.
It may not sound like a sustainable business model, but it’s been working for HGTV for quite some time.
For example, take shows like hometownIn which hosts renovate homes in and around Laurel, Mississippi.
The series has been on for seven seasons, and it seems to be in no danger of running out of properties to extend.
By all appearances, the future is bright for Chelsea and Cole, and this exciting new phase in their lives is just beginning.
