BTS’ Jin named Olympic torchbearer for 2024 Paris Olympics!

BTS’s own Jin is the Olympic torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics!

One of the most popular music groups in the world is the K-pop supergroup BTS.

Jin, the most senior member of the group, recently completed his mandatory military service.

Now, he is representing his country – much to the delight of his millions of fans around the world.

Jin will represent Korea in the 2024 Olympic torch relay

On Wednesday, July 3, talent agency HYBE announced that BTS’s eldest member Jin would be receiving a special honor.

“Jin will participate in the Olympic torch relay to spread the message of ‘harmony’ and ‘peace,'” the agency reported.

HYBE explained: “Jin will be visiting various historical sites in the host country with the other torchbearers.”

31-year-old Jin (real name Kim Seok-jin) will represent South Korea in the torch relay after recently performing one more Service for your country.

Jin completed his 18-month (mandatory) military service in June.

Sure enough, BTS fans around the world are posting on social media as if they are walking like a widow, waiting for their husband to return from war. Part It’s dramatic, but we are all relieved that his compulsory service is over.

When will we see Jin receive the torch and pass it on?

We don’t yet know what specific program the torchbearers will follow. The idea is that they will visit various historical sites in the host country (as usual).

The torch relay began in April, starting – naturally – from Greece. However, this is a relay – a symbolic journey that representatives of the participating countries make in order.

As of now, the other members of BTS will not be available for this Olympic honour.

Jin is the oldest member of BTS. The K-pop supergroup is one of the most popular music groups in the world.

Jung Kook, V, Jimin, Suga, RM, and J-Hope are currently performing their mandatory military duties.

Jin was able to host the annual BTS debut anniversary celebration last month. Now that he has served his time, he is back in his element.

Will other BTS members follow Jin as Olympic torchbearers?

Currently, as we mentioned, the other BTS members are completing their mandatory military service.

However, by 2026, these will be complete. It’s easy to imagine that Jimin could be an Olympic torchbearer for, say, the Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics. Or for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

That being said, from now on it’s unlikely that every torchbearer will be a K-pop idol, let alone a band (no matter how big). At least Stray Kids will have a chance, right?
