Princess Anne accident: Taken to hospital after suffering serious head injuries

Princess Anne was taken to hospital with head injuries and a brain injury following an incident at the Gatcombe Park estate on Sunday night.

At a time when several members of the royal family are unwell, a horror accident left King Charles’ sister requiring urgent medical care.

The palace has released a statement on his current condition, confirming he has been in hospital for 24 hours since the accident.

Princess Anne hospitalised after horse accident

Princess Anne, 73, was injured by a horse while walking in the courtyard of her royal residence on Sunday, June 23.

It is not yet clear if she was actually on horseback or not, as she is a skilled horse rider.

“The Princess Royal has suffered minor injuries and a head injury following an incident at the Gatcombe Park Estate yesterday evening,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Monday.

In the incident she suffered minor head injuries consistent with trauma from a horse’s head or legs, indicating she came into contact with the horse’s front.

Thankfully, emergency services were on the scene and he was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, England.

As of Monday morning, Princess Anne “remains in hospital for observation as a precautionary measure and is expected to make a full and rapid recovery.”

King Charles wishes his sister a speedy recovery

Palace officials confirmed that King Charles was aware of his sister’s accident and was being updated on her condition.

Charles is currently dealing with his own medical issues, having been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Still, she has proven that, like her mother, she is a warrior – and the same should be said about Princess Anne.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said the monarch “joins the whole Royal Family in sending their love and best wishes for the Princess’s speedy recovery.”

Other senior members of the royal family were informed of Anne’s injuries last night. We believe this means Prince William and Princess Kate.

Princess Anne’s husband Sir Timothy Laurence, as well as their daughter Zara Tindall and son Peter Phillips, were all present on the estate at the time of the incident.
